Nigel Chetram
Nigel Chetram, President, as a Public Servant for over three decades, but also the committed father figure for numerous children, many of whom are not akin to his family, we welcome Nigel Chetram to our CHFC board in the hope that his love and passion for the youth will infect our entire board and community.
As a member of the Mountain Heights Wesleyan Church, Nigel serves as a Ministry Musician and as the Christian Education Director. He also enjoys his service as a member of the Board of Governors of the Wesleyan Bible College, and with the District Board of Ministerial Development of the Wesleyan Church in Guyana. More importantly, Nigel works with the Child Evangelism Fellowship in Guyana, where he serves as the Vice Chairman of the National Board.
CHFC will benefit from Nigel’s past philanthropy and experiences with the “Save The Children” television program, currently produced by the AOG church, and his ten years of service on the District Board of Administration of the Wesleyan Church.
Nigel has worked with the Electrical Utility of Guyana for over thirty years, starting as an Apprentice in 1996, before being promoted to the title of Electrical Engineer in 2006. He would then spend five years in Training and Development before being promoted to Quality Manager, where he stands today. Nigel also commits his time and effort as a Rural Constable with the Guyana Police Force.
Likewise, Nigel’s wife is also a Theological Educator who has been involved in the Children’s Ministry for over twenty years, and is currently pursuing a degree at the Wesleyan Bible College. In his personal time, Nigel enjoys reading, traveling, working out and weight-lifting. He also enjoys his time with his wife, four biological children, and numerous other “godly” children who he mentors and cares for.
As the newly elected Chairman of the CEF National Board in Guyana, Nigel received his Electrical Engineering diploma from the University of Guyana, and his Quality Lead Auditor certification from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia (USA). He received his diploma in Mission & Evangelism from the Wesleyan Bible College, and he is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in theology to complement his various other professional credentials from training received in St Lucia, Trinidad, Japan and the USA.
Nigel loves to teach, but also mentor youth in their development, educationally and professionally. He advocates an increase and improvement to education as a factor in crime reduction, and this project directly aligns with his long-term goals in the community. Thus, he is fully prepared to commit the time and resources necessary for us to succeed in helping the youth of Guyana.
