Walter Seetal
Pastor Walter H. Seetal, Founder and President, conceived of the Covenant Home for Children (Covenant Home) as a heartfelt passion project as a native of Guyana before living in Canada and the United States for the past fifty years. He has always felt a strong calling for compassionate ministry to the homeless, youth and our high-risk prison population, and it has always been his deepest desire to give back for the benefit of the quality of life of Guyana’s youth.
Pastor Seetal has dedicated many years to fostered youth independent living programs, and gained his teaching experience at the Grace Nazarene Bible College, along with counseling and case management for Five Acres, Leroy, Boys Home, the Korean Children Hospital, and Charter Oaks Hospital.
For the past fifteen years, as Chaplain at the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles (2000-Present), the VA Greater Los Angles Health Care System (2002-2010), and Senior Pastor for the Altadena Compassionate Heart Church of the Nazarene (2002-2010), he has established a formidable reputation as a Man of God amongst public, private, religious, and charitable entities throughout Los Angeles.
Pastor Seetal believes that communities must be strengthened by providing services that will save lives through improved health-care and educational opportunities, and by addressing homelessness and other critical issues. After much contemplation, prayer and waiting on God’s guidance and direction, Pastor Seetal was led to develop the ministry of the Covenant Home, which he’s confident will make a difference for the children of Guyana in addressing the existing crisis of their homelessness, hunger and illiteracy.
