Marva Langevine
Marva Langevine, Director, as a Teacher of children and language, we welcome Marva Langevine to the board of CHFC, given her shared commitment to serve the fatherless, widows, and afflicted. God has revealed his will for Marva’s life and it includes emotional support for orphans. Her determination and passion are aligned with her destiny as she follows God’s direction to positively impact lives.
It is Marva’s goal to use her role with CHFC the Godly way, to advocate and mentor those children and family members suffering from bereavement, neglect, abuse, and those without the means or knowledge to heal and recover. As a Teacher of Spanish and Portuguese, Marva founded “Camp Golden” as a safe space for bereaved children to cope, grow and succeed. She also acts as the Director of Childhood Bereavement and Childhood Cancer Projects for the Giving Hope Foundation (GHF), where she facilitated a “Grief in the Classroom” workshop for teachers in Region 3 (Guyana).
As an advocate for childhood issues, Marva not only acts as a mentor for children diagnosed with cancer and suffering from bereavement, but also performs outreach to various communities in Guyana, and supports bereaved families with both moral and financial assistance.
Marva is the former Guyana Ambassador for the Caribbean Domestic Violence Awareness (CADVA) organization, where she committed her time and energy in the fight against domestic violence.
She will be graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Spanish) from the University of Guyana in 2017 to complement her Associates Degree in Education (Spanish) from the Cyril Potter College of Education, and her study of CSEC Subjects while attending the Saint Michael School in Barbados.
