Can you imagine a child who has a 74% chance of experience multidimensional poverty and abuse? According to UNICEF data, in 2018:
Guyana has a population of 786,552, 47% of the people are ages 0-24 years old. Over 200,000 children in Guyana experience poverty and youth as young as 5 years old face the dangers of child labor, and homelessness (sheltered and unsheltered).
Covenant Home for Children’s mission is to alleviate homelessness and poverty amongst the street youth of Guyana through providing much-needed programming, supplies, and educational materials to group homes and facilities. Our goal is for all children to achieve academic, financial, and spiritual success to overcome the cycle of poverty. We are a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit organization headquartered in the United States and Guyana, and we can use your donation during this holiday season to continue to support our children in need.

This year CHFC was able to provide a generator to one of our partnering orphanages, giving access to well-needed lighting for children to complete their homework in the evenings. CHFC was successful in delivering soccer shoes and soccer gear for four different teams. Other support includes donating excess money to support our three homes: Bless the Children, Save R Kids, and Hauraruni Girls Home to pay for basic needs such as food, clothing, and hygiene. These are simple needs, and we need more help.
