Andre D. Giles
Andre D. Giles, B.A. J.D., as a new member of our board at Covenant Home, brings our organization a strong background and expertise in law, compliance, affordable housing, social services, and intellectual property. Currently as Partner and Chief Compliance Officer for “Fusion Multiplex”, a hospitality/media start-up company now developing the first luxury cinema-eatery in the Historic Theatre Corridor of Downtown, Los Angeles, Andre welcomes the opportunity to become a loving citizen of our global economy.
Andre will assist in overseeing the Covenant Home’s legal and compliance functions. He has worked in various legal roles involving contracts, insurance, and intellectual property. With a strong focus on Quality Assurance, Risk Management and protecting Fusion’s Intellectual Property portfolio, Andre’s experience and background in the legal profession is further highlighted by his education and experience in Mass Media, as Andre began his collegiate career as a student of Film, Radio, and Television. Before law school, Andre interned with various notable industry entities as HITZ Magazine, Music Plus T.V. (now, “Vlaze Media Network”), So So Def Records, Hi-Frequency Music Marketing, and the Vice President of LaFace Records’ Legal Affairs Department, Cliff Lovette, Esq., who mentored Andre throughout college.
While living in San Francisco, Andre taught a semester in conjunction with the San Francisco Juvenile Court System and the national, “Street Law” program which offers first time offending teenagers an alternative to the traditional methods of punishment levied by the juvenile courts. Before graduating from law school, Andre worked for the highly-acclaimed boutique law firm, Morrison-Foerster in their San Francisco office.
In his past position at Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF), as their sole Corporate Risk Manager, Andre drafted and implemented numerous job safety performance programs and procedures for over 2,500 employees and 15,000 residents, as RHF owns and operates over 160 affordable housing communities in 24 states, including the largest of its kind in “The Angelus Plaza” in Downtown, Los Angeles. Andre continues to work with several nonprofit entities focusing on charitable giving and eradicating homelessness, such as Covenant Home.
Andre received a bachelor’s degree in Communications (Mass Media – Film/Radio/Television) from Clark-Atlanta University and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco-School of Law.
Andre looks forward to the challenge of building Covenant Home into an internationally recognized charitable entity, and hopes to become an asset to our organization for years to come.
