Mike Zendejas
Mike Zendejas, as Corporate Secretary and Board Member for the Covenant Home, brings the valued perspective of an administrative, consumer, and financial services professional from his ten-year career as that of a Senior Loan Officer.
Taking pride in consistently providing nothing but excellent customer service, Mike has committed his time and expertise to the Union Rescue Mission (URM - Los Angeles) for the past three years.
As we all are at some point in life, Mike was once in need and nearly homeless, before receiving a much-needed helping hand from the URM. After his initial shock in the level of need in and around Skid Row, Mike soon felt the Lord leading him too become a part of the solution, and show compassion for the homeless, and those fighting addictions.
After successfully graduating from the Christian Life Discipleship Program in 2014, he welcomed the opportunity to “pay it forward”, and give back to those who need it most. Thus, Mike happily joins the Covenant Home executive leadership and board with an energetic commitment helping those homeless children, families, and those that are otherwise forgotten by society, such as the children of Guyana who will reside at the Covenant Home.
Mike began his administrative career as a secretary with the Sheriff’s Department - South County Investigations Department (1993-99), as a major bank’s Senior Loan Officer (1999-09), and with the Employment Skills Specialist Department at the URM (2013-Present). He now also enjoys a role with the Christian Life Discipleship Program Servant Leadership, as a ministry member, and with the URM Alumni as a board member and secretary.
In his personal time, Mike enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, including his seven nieces and nephews. With a profound understanding of families in need, Mike’s first-hand experiences and organizational expertise only compliment the ultimate mission of Covenant Home.
